Google celebrates 12th birthday: a timeline – Telegraph

This is a great read. I found myself thinking, okay, what was I doing in 1995? And, to think, kids barely in middle school now have never known a world without “Google.”

Trying to figure out the Google analytics can be difficult, especially when you are googling keywords that you think your customers may be using ie marketing, branding, public relations, advertising.

I do find many people really don’t use Google as the incredible resource it is, By following some simple search rules – which are outlined under their advanced search – you can make some inroads into finding what you need (other than where and how to purchase things). And I have often found that putting words in quotes sometimes will return different results, but not always. But, taking the time to think of ways to search for things, and what you describe, will usually get you to where you want to go.

Google sets up its first office in the garage of Susan Wojcicki, now the company’s vice president of product management, at 232 Santa Margarita, Menlo Park in Silicon Valley.
