Fun Facts about me

  • I was the first deejay on Holland-America’s flagship, the ss Rotterdam. In the Sky Bar, I played disco records with dimes taped to the turntable arms to keep them from skipping while at sea.
  • My first gig in public relations was with the Merlin Group, LTD, in New York City, a theatrical press agency that handled many Broadway and off-Broadway shows and personal PR for celebrities.
  • In high school, the first computer I worked on created punch cards.
  • In 1980, I lived two blocks away from the Dakota, where John Lennon was shot. I had just left the liquor store with a bottle of wine, walking back to the apartment, when I heard the shots. I had no idea what had happened until I walked in the door, and my roommates were watching the news.
  • The first computer I owned had a 40 MB (not a typo) hard drive, which was 14″w x 14″d by 6″ high, an amber 12″ monitor and a 12-pin printer. It cost $3500.
  • I learned to type on a manual typewriter.
  • I can drive a manual stick shift.
  • I’m left-handed. I can mirror-write (after I found out Leonard Da Vinci did it).
