Metadata
The metadata is the information that describes your book, i.e., the title, subtitle, author(s), contributions, and so forth. It is a detailed process and somewhat time-consuming, but very important. If it isn’t done correctly, your book (and your account on KDP, for example) can be closed down. I work with you closely to make sure every piece of the metadata fits the industry standard.
Assistance acquiring ISBNS (you can purchase directly and save money!)
In addition, I can help you set up your ISBNs and duplicate the metadata on Bowker, the office ISBN agency for the United States. (And save money: Did you know you can purchase the ISBNs directly?) You don’t need to purchase additional bar codes in many cases—KDP, for example, adds one to your cover at no cost.
Draft2Digital.com (for eBooks), Amazon.com (for both), Ingramspark (libraries, bulk purchases), and Lulu.com (specialty artbooks).
The ins and outs of getting your book online can be daunting. I can consult with you on cover design, assist in getting everything online, or give you direction on best practices. You will be in control of all the necessary accounts and setups for distribution. You will have your own accounts, and no financial information will be shared with me.
